The Clansman's Crest Badge

The Clansman's Crest Badge comprises of the Chief's Crest surrounded by a strap and buckle bearing his motto and is the only heraldic device which all clan members are permitted to wear as a sign of their loyalty.

There are at least six versions of the Turnbull Crest Badge. The most commonly accepted, however,  is a bull's head and the motto being either "I SAVED THE KING" or "AUDACI FAVET FORTUNA" (translated as Fortune favours the Bold).

If they desire, armigorous Clan members are entitled to wear their own crest within a circlet backed by a single feather in lieu of the Crest Badge.
